Her professional journey has spanned roles in law enforcement, offender rehabilitation, and child behavioral support, where she has consistently championed trauma-informed care and holistic interventions. Through the years, Shakita has remained steadfast in her mission to meet people where they are with empathy, dignity, and cultural sensitivity.

Certified in Crisis Intervention, Mental Health First Aid, and Nonviolent Crisis Prevention, she possesses specialized training in suicide prevention, peer support, and trauma-informed communication.
