Josh Rinz, LPC, RP (He/Him)
Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist
Josh Rinz is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in South Carolina and a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) in Ontario, Canada. He is also an Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist with a deep commitment to supporting neurodivergent and disabled individuals, their families, and caregivers. Josh has been in private practice since 2018 and began supervising other clinicians in 2023. He currently provides virtual therapy to clients in Ontario and sees clients both locally and virtually in South Carolina.
Josh is the Director of Community and Family Services at an experiential school for neurodivergent youth, where he combines evidence-based approaches with creative, hands-on strategies to support growth, communication, and connection. His work is grounded in both clinical expertise and lived experience—as a father to two neurodivergent sons, he brings empathy, insight, and advocacy to everything he does.
Originally from South Carolina, Josh spent nearly 20 years in Canada before returning home with his family. His earlier career as a biologist included roles as a zookeeper and cancer researcher, which continue to inform his work through a strong foundation in neurobiology and a love for integrating animals and nature into therapy.
Outside the therapy room, Josh enjoys gardening, quilting, and hunting down the best local brunch spots. He’s also a sci-fi enthusiast who can often be found at conventions or exploring the imaginative edges of storytelling. He shares his home with his family and two beloved therapy dogs.
Josh is passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges, embrace their strengths, and build meaningful, connected lives.
